Hope Doucet, LMSW

My therapeutic practice is rooted in the belief that every individual has power to manifest changes in their own unique reality. Walking with you on your journey of self-acceptance and self-understanding makes this possible. Wherever you are in life, I meet you with guidance to empower you and encourage understanding, expression, and validation of your feelings, identity, perspective, values, and true inner nature.

Primarily working with children, adolescents, and young adults, I am youth oriented, family focused, and trauma-informed in my clinical work. Clients have described me as “patient”, “understanding”, and “caring.” My counseling approach is growth-oriented, empowerment focused, and humanistic. Therapeutic values I hold are cultural humility, curiosity, empathy, integrity, honesty, non-judgement, respect, and thoughtfulness. I have experience working with various cultural backgrounds in regard to ethnicity, religion, and sexual identity and have worked with people who live with ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, behavioral disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, self-injury, and suicidal ideation and behavior. I received a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2017.

As a pansexual person, I come from a place of non-judgement and approach my work with an open mind. Awareness of how life experiences and traumas impact achieving goals, e.g., a closer relationship with yourself and your loved ones, helps bring change into focus. In my free time, I enjoy reading, learning, spending time with friends, shopping, and lighting incense.

P.S. You are brave to be here, right now.
