Hi! My name is Tahlia and I am a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP). I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2025. I am a queer, biracial therapist, who prioritizes creating a warm and compassionate environment for all people. I work with individuals of all walks of life, but I am most passionate about and experienced in working with children, queer people, and those who practice consensual nonmonogamy and polyamory.
I approach therapy in a manner that is strength-based and person-centered; I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and that it is my job to help you find empowerment through your own strengths. However you choose to participate in your therapeutic experience is encouraged. Sometimes we feel like laughing, joking, yelling, or traveling inward, and any way you feel called to show up, I will meet you there. I aim to create a safe environment in which you are able to feel vulnerable, seen, heard, and above all, understood. I believe that one of the best predictors of successful therapy is a positive therapeutic alliance between clinician and client, which I prioritize building with my clients through trust and mutual respect.
It is my goal to support clients as they explore themselves in any capacity that serves them; identity, relationships, self-concept, distress management, and beyond. I use an eclectic blend of evidence-based practices such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parts work, somatic therapy, and humanistic psychotherapy to help clients navigate their unique experiences and challenges. I look forward to working with you and walking alongside you in your therapeutic journey.
